A message from Carlo Serrano

Dear Friends,

Carlo here, your parish music director. As some of you may know, I'm originally from the Philippines and I started working at St. Joe's in October of 2021 under a temporary work visa. I love my work at the church and the school, and I hope to stay much longer! However, my stay in the US is contingent upon having a more permanent work authorization which is called a “green card.” Acquiring a green card would allow me to stay on without expiration. The application process takes a few years and costs a lot (about $20,000), and when you're on a musician's income with a bunch of student loans in the mix, well, you get the idea.
